A school cannot teach love, self-awareness and acceptance and then try to put that genie back in the bottle. The Church and the school will either evolve or wither on the vine. Kennedy High School in Burien today fired forced the resignation of two of their teachers solely because they are gay Some students at Kennedy Catholic High School also spoke out in support of the teachers, both of whom did not comment on the situation. A gay pride flag was hoisted outside of the school in support over the weekend, but was reportedly quickly taken down. Students, parents, and alumni are reportedly planning a protest on Tuesday to support the teachers.

Supporters planned to protest outside the office of the Archdiocese of Seattle on Tuesday morning, followed by a student walkout in the afternoon in solidarity with the teachers.
