Catch 34 chicago

We would definitely go back again. We had reservations between theater, matinee at Shakespeare at 3 and 8PM at Goodman on a Saturday night. Because of traffic we were running late, called the restaurant and they were very accommodating. Showed up half and hour later and were seated within minutes. The service was excellent, the food outstanding sea bass and the pace of service was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and appreciated that valet service for theater goers.

Service was exceptional. Food was pricey but well worth it. The oysters were fresh and the scallop appetizer with a large pot sticker was a perfect appetizer. Sea bass was yummy and the sauce on the crab cake was so good! Steak cooked perfectly. Key lime pie was light and refreshing. We will return!

Good food, good vibes. The food and service was excellent. The server knew the menu and answered any questions. The food was well prepared and plated well. Highly recommend Catch 35! Appetizers, dinner and drinks were outstanding.

Happy Anniversary to us!! They went out of their way to make it most enjoyable, considering we were late!! Thank you!!

Each one of us had a different meal, and they were all delicious. Everything was amazing! Our waiter was great at helping me select a cocktail. The food was beyond my expectations, especially the Brussel sprouts side dish. Food and service were very good. Only negative was the amount of wine served. One glass felt more like a tasting than a normal sized glass. Seems like they have an inventory clerk mentality rather than trying to please their customers, at least with the wine.

Everyone from the valet to the waitress was exceedingly friendly. Dinner the night before Valentines Day. Everything was great! The price fixe dinner is a great deal. I loved the panko crusted haddock with sweet potatoes and oyster mushrooms. The flourless chocolate cake was dreamy! I was punished for being honest. I asked for the manager, he promised he had corrected everything.

Totally dishonest and unethical restaurant! Very disappointed! Fresh tasting food good options friendly staff and service good value. I hadn't been in a while, but boy was the food great Super fresh fish, and terrific martinis! West for restaurant week. Husband had the chilean sea bass, which he adored. I had the small filet and crab cake option, which was good. Sat on a high-top in the bar because we like that vibe and the singer that night was very good. Server was very attentive and helpful.

We'd definitely go again. Came early for our reservation but were seated immediately Chose the prix fixe menu-good value! A little mix up with our dessert but it was corrected very quickly. All were satisfied with their dinner choices. The salmon was delicious! The food was very good! I recommended to a friend already. Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service as well as ambiance! Would definitely go there again. We did the Restaurant Week option which was delicious in taste and presentation.

Highly recommend this restaurant. Live jazz trio was there when we arrived but were done by 9. Restaurant week and they did a great job. Sea bass was delicious. We were seated within a few minutes of our reservation time. Our seats were right next to the service station in the rear of the restaurant, which led to periodic loud noises of dishes rustling, utensil cleaning, and glasses clanking - avoid this area. We ordered selections from the restaurant week menu. The crab bisque was OK and apps were OK and our main courses were warm, not hot as if they had been sitting waiting to get picked up.

The staff was nice and attentive. Overall, decent experience and we will return, but will try other seafood spots in the area first. Great restaurant!! Five star on all indicators. The food is absolutely amazing!!!!! Ourfavite seafood restaurant in Chicago. Great if your going to theatre.

The restaurant is very nice and welcoming. Our food was hot when it arrived both the salmon and steak were juicy. It took a long time for us to get our food after ordering. We were there from pm to pm and 20 mins of that was eating the entree. Great scallops. It was a beautiful place for lunch.

We ordered mostly from the Restaurant Week menu and were so impressed that will definitely return in the future. Enjoyed Asian salmon, lobster roll and short rib hash with scallops. Desserts of key lime pie and flourless chocolate cake were excellent. Very pleasant experience.

Will definitely come back. Great restaurant week menu the scallops surf and turf was very tasty. You can order delivery directly from Catch 35 - Chicago using the Order Online button. Fantastic meal in a great environment with beautiful music and awesome staff. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended. Glad to have Catch 35 back. Missed the potstickers dreadfully, and nearly left when the waiter told us they were no longer on the menu. Good news He was mistaken.

They still come with the Szechwan scallop appetizer, though I could have sworn there was tuna entree that came with one as well. We ordered another as a side for the white fin tuna dish my wife ordered. That dish was a slight disappointment. Perhaps in the past they offered a seared version that was served differently.

My wife always loved it when she ordered it, but she didn't much care for the preparation she was served tonight. The bar served up another disappointment. They were completely out of Rye whiskey. We were told it was impossible to get in the city due to the number of restaurants coming back online.

They may need a bootlegger to bring some in from the burbs. Last I looked, supplies were ample. All in all though, we had a good time reacquainting ourselves with an old favorite. Here's hoping Catch comes back strong after it's long absence.

We will be back. I've always had a great experience at Catch My husband and I have been coming here for years for date nights, birthdays, and anniversary celebrations. The only difference with this experience is my dessert didn't have the usual celebratory candle and decorations as in the past. So, I was a little disappointed. And, my husband's coffee cup was dirty, therefore he couldn't enjoy his usual at the end of the meal drink.

However, this is not going to stop us from coming back. It's overall one of our favorite celebration restaurants. Greeting was warm as always. Food was great. They were open to this sub and recommended blackened. Remainder of dinner and desserts were also great. Nice surprise that there was live music in the bar. Created nice background homeyness. Thank you. We had one of the most amazing meals on our trip. The food was fantastic, amazingly prepared and the selection on the menu was more than expected.

The drinks where perfect and Victor who was our waiter was superb. I would give 10 stars. Great atmosphere, wonderful service and amazing food. I will definitely be back! Highly recommend! Overall a great experience. Food was delicious though maybe a bit overpriced for the size but it is downtown Chicago.

Amazing everything! Some of the best chowdah in my life! Highly recommend this restaurant! The food was great and the wait staff attentive.

Our table was available at our reservation time. Waiter went into too much detail about each section of the menu and listed several of his favorites for each. We had no interest in his favorites. As the dinner went on, the place became full and it took so long for the waiter to return, we did not order our intended desert. Excellent food and great personal service from the wonderful wait staff.

I am elated that Catch 35 is unchanged and survived the pandemic. Outstanding food, ambiance and service! After evaluating more than 20 places to eat near my hotel, I chose Catch Ambiance was wonderful and I was intrigued by the soon to be taking stage live band. The menu had a number of interesting options, and I ultimately chose the scallops with shrimp risotto and a side of crispy Brussels sprouts. I ordered an Old Fashioned from the bar. My drink was as expected and the complimentary sourdough and whipped butter were outstanding.

When my entree arrived, the presentation was very nice. I love crispy Brussels sprouts so I was a bit disappointed that the sprouts were actually quite soggy. But they were saved by the taste of the sauce in which they were drizzled.

As for the entree, I expected more. The scallops were slightly over cooked and the risotto lacked the rich flavor I expected. They were a bit on the watery side for my taste. So overall, I rated the food 3 stars. I would be remiss to mention how great the band was. Regrettably I forgot their name but I do know that they play through the week and Saturday night. I very much enjoyed their music as I dined. This really looked like a great seafood restaurant to dine at in downtown Chicago.

It may be better at different times, but this visit was very disappointing as the service was poor, service was slow and the evening took 3 hours for our dinner with an important client.

Waiter had only 3 days on the job, but was inattentive, got our orders wrong and seemed to avoid us throughout the evening. I was first brought the wrong entree, and one of our guests he wrong side vegetable. So I had to wait for my correct order while everyone else ate theirs. Then my yellowfin tuna was just OK - but a thick cut, and cold. Needed to be heated through, but no one asked how I wanted it prepared. I probably wouldn't go back when I'm in Chicago again.

Too many other better options with better established service staff. Carlos and Bella and the rest of the team were awesome from start to finish! The food was excellent and the service was a 10! Food was not amazing, service was awful. The waitress was rude and seemed very annoyed. The night before we ate at RPM, they were fantastic, 5 stars for sure. Great food, great service, great ambiance.

Very disappointed in Catch. Wait staff was nicely attentive, and the food was interesting and great flavors. Will want to have Catch 35 on the short list of restaurants to repeat frequently. Host were accommodating when we called to inform of our late arrival. We were tended to immediately with bread and water and updated that our server was on his way. Wait staff was very knowledgeable and made recommendations.

Busser came by to clear our table in between courses. Our food was flavorful and hot. It was ordered MR but it came out almost blue.

Overall, it was an enjoyable visit. My first visit to Catch 35 and it was pleasant! All of the staff was friendly, professional and efficient. This includes host, waiter- Victor, bus boy etc.. The food came out really fast. We had the crab n guac quesadilla, Beef short Rib sliders , crab cake sliders and Seafood trio salmon, shrimp, Lobster Tail.

The beef short ribs were tender but could use some more seasoning and maybe a different topping. The crab cakes lacked a lil flavor. The seafood trio was delicious.

I will come back and maybe try the risotto. We had a lovely evening. We wish the waiter was a little more knowledgeable of the menu items but overall it was a good dinner and swrvice.

Use to come here all the time before they closed during the pandemic, and it was wonderful. This visit wasn't anything like before. The quality of the food wasn't the same. This was a big disappointment for Sweetest Day, my date wasn't impressed. Our waiter has only worked at the restaurant for 3 days, so he was still getting use to the workings of the restaurant. He couldn't confirm what beers were available, 3 of us ordered cocktails, which we thought were watered down, definitely lite on the alcohol not the waiters fault.

I had requested my fish be plain grilled no seasonings, no sauce. It came breaded with a beurre blanc sauce. I sent it back. I don't believe our waiter even knew that I sent it back.

My friends had finished their entres, before I got dinner! The restaurant started to fill up, we had to seek out our waiter to get our check, as he was no where to be found. Sad that we have to pay for poor quality drinks and service, but that is how the industry has now evolved over the last year or so. The waiter was just outstanding wonderful, his vibe his tone his introduction to us was very nice. From start to finish the experience was everything that we wanted it to be!

The food was mouth-watering and the service was impeccable! The food was absolutely amazing, when you go desert is a must! It's so refreshing to see when a restaurant gets it right. My server Eric was impeccable. I will definitely go back :.

Me and my wife went there for a dinner before a comedy show, food was very delicious and came out quick. The New England clam chowder is one of the best things in the menu.

The drinks were ok but nothing special. Very enjoyable loved the jazz. These shrimp bisque was outstanding. Food was good. Wait between appetizers and main course was about an hour.

It was a birthday dinner and wished we had time for cake. Food was very good and servers were attentive. We really enjoyed the bar area with 3 piece ensemble. A nice editing experience…. Swordfish and Chilean Seabass were very good.
